Sophos is the leading choice for midsize businesses looking to maintain effective security and streamline their cybersecurity stack. That was the finding of the 2024 IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Modern Endpoint Security for Midsize Businesses 2024 vendor assessment. The IDC Survey evaluated the solutions and business strategies of 16 modern endpoint security (MES) vendors before reaching its conclusion.

The Industry’s Most Sophisticated Endpoint Security Solution

Rated number one by industry analysts, third-party reports, and existing customers, Sophos Endpoint defends more than 300,000 organizations worldwide against advanced attacks before they can impact the network. Powerful EDR and XDR tools let organizations hunt for, investigate, and respond to suspicious activity and attack indicators before they escalate.

IDC praises Sophos Endpoint for including “a more expansive set of protection technologies (host-based firewall and IDS/IPS, device control, DLP, and encryption) as standard features in its endpoint security offering.” In addition, “Sophos has a strong set of features in customer security advisory recently enhanced with an account health-checking feature (detecting and remediating security configuration drift).”

One of the new key features that IDC applauded is Adaptive Active Protection. It automatically puts shields up whenever a protected device shows signs of compromise and a hands-on keyboard attack is in progress. By blocking activities usually associated with a human-led attack, Adaptive Active Protection provides security teams more time to identify the breach, contain it, and eliminate the threat.

“With their professional and managed security services, expanded product set, and ability to integrate with existing security investments, it’s clear that Sophos understands the needs and challenges of a midsize business,” said Michael Suby, research vice president, Security & Trust, IDC. “Sophos’s comprehensive approach from prevention through recovery places Sophos on the shortlist of midsize businesses looking for an established and effective partner for security.”

An Extensive and Compatible Security Platform for Action

Sophos combines its security platform with an expansive portfolio of products and managed security services. More importantly, Sophos solutions can work with an extensive array of third-party cybersecurity solutions, leveraging all from a single unified platform, leveraging the technology they need from Sophos, or connecting their existing cybersecurity technologies.

"For the many midsize businesses and VARs serving midsize businesses that are struggling with SecOps staffing and maturity, Sophos offers the means to overcome this challenge without forcing a full vendor swap.” The IDC report noted.

Cybersecurity is too complex, too difficult, and changes too fast to be effectively managed by most organizations. At Sophos, you get the very best cybersecurity, whether self-managed or as a service, so that you can provide exceptional security to your midsize customers.
